About me…

Hi, I’m Emily!

I am an Early Childhood Teacher, Artist and Writer who lives behind a pink door with my husband, three children, two cats, six chickens and an axolotl. I love to use watercolours to create whimsical paintings inspired by nature and childhood.

When I was a child, my Mother gifted me her creativity and a love of picture books. I hope to pass on a little of this magic to each child (and adult alike) who stumbles upon my work.

The magic of childhood…

First came a childhood full of creating, picture books and the magic of imagination. Then came art school as a young adult followed by a teaching career in early childhood education.

Weaving all these experiences and knowledge together, a writing and illustration practice, built upon whimsy and wonder, drawing and painting training, knowledge of child development and the reading of thousands of picture books, was born.
